1979 Alpine Skiing World Cup
The season 1978/1979 the FIS Alpine World Cup, organized by the began on December 9, 1978 in Schladming (men) or Piancavallo ( women) and ended on 20 March 1979 in Furano. For men, 29 races were held (9 runs, 10 giant slalom, slalom 10 ). For women, there were 22 races (7 runs, 7 giant slalom, slalom 8 ). There were also four combination ratings. The season ended with a parallel slalom of the ladies, who scored only for the Nations Cup. The Parallel Slalom was canceled.
This season was an interim year without a world championship or Olympic Winter Games.
