Steve Brown (English darts player)

Steve Brown ( born January 25, 1982 in Bristol ) is an English darts player, who is currently in the PDC under contract.

Career

Brown takes part in the tournament since 2006, the PDC and reached the round of 64 regularly His greatest successes came in the Windy City Open 2007 and the UK Open Irish Regional in 2007, where he penetrated each to the quarterfinals. Even with the Peachtree Open 2007 and the Hayling Iceland PDPA Players Championship 2007, he reached the round of 16

Due to constant performance on the pro tour in 2007 he was able to first qualify for the World Cup 2008. He finished fifth highest place among the players who were not automatically qualified for the tournament. He started the year at No. 613, the PDC Order of Merit, and peaked at number 76, however, in the first round he lost to Chris Mason with 1:3.

For the subsequent World Cup, however, Brown could not qualify and only began again in 2010 participated in the World Cup. He lost again in the first round with 1:3, this time against the then world ranking third James Wade. The year 2010 was a turning point for Brown dar. He reached both the second round of the World Matchplay and the second round of the World Grand Prix. At the World Championships 2011, he won his first game as he defeated the Dutchman Jelle Klaasen in the first round 3-1. In the second round he lost to the eventual semi-finalists then Terry Jenkins with 1:4.

His first tournament on the PDC Pro Tour, he won in February 2011. In the finals of the UK Open Qualifier 1 he defeated Ian White 6-3. In April of the same year he reached, partly because of this success, the first time the top 32 in the world rankings.

At the World Championship 2012 Brown lost in the first round against the South African Devon Petersen, when he was still blazes a 2-0 set lead and lost with 2:3. Also in the first round, he retired at the World Championships a year later from. He lost there 0-3 to the Englishman Terry Jenkins.

Brown started in 1996 playing with the darts and earned his living as a plasterer, before he decided to be Dartprofi. He is a fan of the football club Bristol City and founded the Steve Brown Darts Academy, which is aimed at children between eight and 16 years.

Brown is married and has three children.
