Sumba ( Danish name: Sumbo ) is the southernmost town of the Faroe Islands on the island Suðuroy

To commune includes the villages of Sumba Lopra, Vikarbyrgi and Akrar. Together, the community had the end of 2002 just 431 inhabitants.

Sumba is the southernmost town on Suðuroy and is located on the west coast. Upstream of the west is the 7 -acre, uninhabited Sumbiarhólmur, one of the eleven bars of the Faroe Islands. In summer sheep grazing on the spar, which is well fertilized by the numerous seabirds.

Go down to the harbor and watch the high waves and the surf. Keep your distance. In stormy weather, it can be dangerous to approach too close. In summer you can often see seals playing in the harbor.
