Sune Andersson

Sune Andersson ( born February 22, 1921 in Södertälje, † April 29, 2002 in Solna ) was a Swedish national football player and coach.

Career

Andersson played from 1934 Ekerö IK, before moving to Hagalunds IS 1939. In 1946 he went to AIK Solna, where he made his debut on 1 September in the Allsvenskan a 0-0 draw at IS Halmia. A week later succeeded the defender, who was employed both as a means as well as an external rotor, against Degerfors IF his first Erstligator. From 1948, he was team captain and was able in 1949 to celebrate the victory of the Svenska Cupen. In 1950 he left the club after four seasons in which he ran aground 82 times and scored 18 goals, and changed as many of his compatriots to Italy. Before he became a professional player abroad, he worked as a mechanic for a telegraph company and fur traders.

From 1950 denied Andersson 59 games in Serie A for AS Roma, where he played with his countrymen Stig Sundqvist and Knut Nordahl. Here he succeeded in twelve gates. In 1952 he returned to Sweden and worked from 1953 as a coach at Iggesunds IK. From 1955 he was responsible for IFK Eskilstuna. In 1956 he returned as a player for the club on the pitch and played until 1958 30 more games in the Allsvenskan, with two goals get him. He then went to Kalmar FF in the Division 2, where he worked until 1961. 1962 to 1963 he worked for Finspångs AIK, 1964, he went to Södertälje SK, who had ascended to Division 2. In 1969 he returned to Hagalunds IS, where he worked in the Division 4. In 1971, he ended his career here.

Andersson was 1947-1950 Swedish national team 28 times. He scored three goals for the country selection. At the 1948 Olympic Games, he won the team gold medal at the world championship in 1950 he finished third. After his move to Italy, he is no longer included in the national team since professional players were excluded from the association.
