Suso Cecchi d'Amico

Suso Cecchi D' Amico (* July 21, 1914 in Rome, † July 31, 2010 ibid; actually Giovanna Cecchi D'Amico ) was an Italian screenwriter.

Life

Cecchi D' Amico, daughter of writer and screenwriter Emilio Cecchi, since 1946, wrote more than 110 scripts, usually in collaboration with other authors. Occasionally, they also provided the story for a screenplay and was responsible for drafting the dialogues. She has worked closely with the directors who often wrote the screenplay with her. From the beginning, were among the masterpieces of Italian film history as The Bicycle Thief by Vittorio de Sica. She became famous in the 1960s and 1970s through her work with the directors Franco Zeffirelli and Luchino Visconti. From the 1980s she turned rather light entertainment films and television on and worked a lot with Mario Monicelli together. Into old age, she worked as a scriptwriter and even with 92 years one of the authors for the film The End of the Gods with ao Dolph Lundgren and Mónica Cruz.

In 1965 she was in the "Best Screenplay " nomination for the film Casanova '70 along with Agenore Incrocci, Furio Scarpelli, Mario Monicelli, Tonino Guerra and Giorgio Salvioni for an Oscar in the category.

1986 Cecchi D'Amico won the David di Donatello Award for the television movie Speriamo che sia femmina ( also received awards: Tullio Pinelli, Mario Monicelli, Leonardo Benvenuti, Piero De Bernardi and ).

In 1982 she was a member of the jury of the film festival in Cannes.

Suso Cecchi D' Amico was married until his death with the musicologist Fidele D' Amico, with whom she had three children.
