Ted Templeman

Ted Templeman ( born October 24, 1944 in Santa Cruz, California) is an American songwriter, music producer, who was best known for his work with Van Halen, and the Doobie Brothers.

Biography

Templeman began his music career as a drummer in various locally known bands. Later, he then joined the Tikis, which renamed itself in 1966 in Harpers Bizarre. In addition to his work as a guitarist and singer of the group, he also helped Lenny Waronker, producer of Harpers Bizarre, in studio.

When Harpers Bizarre 1970 parted, offered Waronker Templeman a job as a producer at Warner Brothers Records. As early as next year, he then took a then unknown Californian band under his wing, the Doobie Brothers was called. The debut album flopped, but already the following album Toulouse Street was a complete success. Templeman produced all other albums of the band, who appeared on Warner Brothers.

For Van Morrison, Captain Beefheart, Little Feat and Montrose Templeman produced in this period a number of successful albums. In 1977, he then brought a hard rock band called Van Halen to the Warner Bros. label, which he had discovered at a club in Hollywood. Until 1984, Templeman produced all the band's albums.

Then followed by music of Ex - Van Halen musician David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar and LPs by Eric Clapton and Aerosmith. In the late 1980s ebbed slowly the successes of Temple Mans productions, even if he was still active in the music industry into the 21st century.
