The Blitz is the eighth studio album by the Swiss hard rock band Krokus. It contains the singles " Ballroom Blitz ", " Midnite Maniac" and " Our Love ".

Background
After the departure of drummer Steve Pace and the even greater loss of songwriter and Crocus founding member Chris von Rohr, the band had to act quickly, they wanted to meet the achieved by the predecessor Headhunter successes and resulting expectations. Also, since the during the previous tour for the rhythm guitar Patrick Mason undertook also before the recordings again got out and only the drummer Jeff Klaven got in as a full member, The Blitz was the only album that was recorded only four full members alongside the debut album crocus. Fernando von Arb was responsible for the shooting in the Little Mountain Sound Studios in Vancouver for both the lead and for the rhythm guitar and Mark Kohler caring, as with the last tour to the bass. Of course, the constant line-up changes were not a good basis to beat the most successful album Headhunter again, but managed The Blitz, supported by the singles and music videos for " Our Love ", " Midnite Maniac" and The Sweet cover " Ballroom Blitz " turn reap numerous successes. It reached # 83 in the Canadian album charts, number 55 in Germany, number 31 in the U.S. Billboard 200 and number 27 in Sweden. In addition, the album made for a premiere: It was for the first crocus success in the album charts in their home country, and also a very respectable 6th place. It also drove again Gold status in Switzerland, the USA and Canada. For the following The Blitz Tour, along with Sammy Hagar took the band co- headlined by North and South America as well as Europe, the American Andy Tanas was committed on bass. A highlight of this tour was the appearance as a headliner at held in the Chilean Viña del Mar Viña del Mar International Song Festival, when the band played in front of 80,000 spectators. Then it was again in the United States as co -headliner of Accept and Rough Cutt in the opening act on the road. However, the line-up did not last through even this tour: Andy Tanas was replaced shortly before the end of the U.S. tour through the Swiss bassist Tommy Keiser. The constant line-up changes did not break off, and so began the gradual descent of crocus, despite the success of The Blitz.
