Tiberiu Bălan

Tiberiu Gabriel Bălan ( born February 17, 1981 in Ocna Mureş ) is a Romanian football player. The midfielder has since Summer 2013 at Rapid Bucharest under contract.

Career

At the age of 16 years Bălan came in the squad 's first team Universitatea Cluj, which played into the Divizia A. In February 1998, he came there to its first use. In his first two seasons, he barely came into play. Only after the descent into Divizia B at the end of the 1998/99 season he became a regular player. During the winter break 1999/2000 he left Cluj and joined the first division club Rapid Bucharest. When he came runner-up in 2000 but only on a few missions, so he was loaned during the winter break 2000/ 01 to the league rivals Gaz Metan Medias. With Gaz Metan he was relegated at season's end.

In the summer of 2001 Bălan Rapid left and moved to local rivals Sportul Studenţesc. Was he in the first two seasons, still a reserve player, he was after relegation in 2003 for stem force. Even after the immediate resurgence he was among the top performers and headed into the 2005 /06 twelve matches to reach the fourth place at. After this success Sportul had to descend due to tax liabilities in the Liga II. Then Bălan came less frequently used. In January 2008 he was loaned to the first division team FCU Politehnica Timişoara, but there was rarely used. In the summer of 2008 he returned to Sportul, the agreed re- lending with Unirea Urziceni. This was for him a stroke of luck, as it was for stem force there and won the championship in 2009. He was then loaned again for half a year after Urziceni, but came only rarely to the course. In the second half of 2009/10 he played on loan for Rapid Bucharest, but were held to a single use.

After his return to Sportul which had risen just in the Division 1 he was in the season 2010/11 first-team regular and was able to continue with twelve gates to previous achievements. He finished the season with his team, although at the last place down, but managed to avoid relegation, which received a lot of other clubs, no license. A few game days after the start of the season 2011/12 the local rivals Steaua Bucharest took him under contract. With Steaua he could not sit down and broke his contract in January 2013. In the summer of 2013 he returned to Rapid Bucharest.

National

In November 2004, the then national coach Anghel Iordănescu Bălan nominated for the first time for a game of the Romanian national team, but did not put it on. Only under Iordanescu successor Victor Piţurcă he came on 9 February 2005 against Slovakia on his first international match when he came on in the 70th minute for Florentin Petre. Between August 2005 and May 2006, he was regularly the Romanian squad. Then it took more than three years to Razvan Lucescu Bălan Piţurcăs successor appointed in October 2009, the final qualifiers but did not use him for the World Cup 2010.

In August 2011 Bălan was under new coach Piţurcă for the last time at which the national team and came in a friendly against San Marino in the first half and used.
