Tiger Hillarp Persson

Tiger Hillarp Persson ( born October 28, 1970 in Malmö) is a Swedish chess player and International Grandmaster.

He is considered an original and creative attacking player. The Grand Master title he won by a good result at the Chess Olympiad in 1998 in Elista. Hillarp Persson won, among other 1999 tournaments in Gentofte (before Sune Berg Hansen, Simen Agdestein, Einar Gausel, Helgi Áss Grétarsson, Heikki Westerinen and Lars Schandorff ) and York ( by Rating ago Alexei Barsov and Julian Hodgson ) and in Saint Helier 2000 and Guernsey 2001.

At the Nordic Championships in Finland Vammalla in 2005, he was number two behind Evgeny Agrest. In the same year he was also Swedish runner-up. In 2007 he was in Stockholm with 9 points from 13 games Swedish national champion. He repeated in 2008 in Växjö with 10 out of 13 for this success.

In 2005 he published his first book, Tiger 's Modern about the Modern Defence (Quality Chess Europe AB, Gothenburg 2005, ISBN 9-197524-36-0 (English) ).

His current Elo rating is 2557 (as of October 2013). This puts it behind Evgeny Agrest on the second place in the Swedish Elo ranking. He plays for the Skara Schacksällskap.
