Tinguipaya Municipality

The municipality Tinguipaya ( Quechua: Tinkipaya ) is a district in the Potosí Department in the highlands of South American Andes State of Bolivia. Central location of the county is Tinguipaya.

The municipality Tinguipaya is one of four Municipalities in the province of Tomás Frías. It is bordered to the north by the province Chayanta, on the east by the province of Cornelio Saavedra, on the southeast by the municipality of Potosí, to the south by the municipality of Yocalla, on the southwest by the municipality of Urmiri, and on the east by the department of Oruro.

Geography

The municipality is situated on the eastern edge of the Tinguipaya Bolivian Altiplano before the Andes mountain range of the Cordillera Central.

The mean annual temperature of the region is about 11 ° C (see climate chart Potosí ), the annual precipitation is about 350 mm. The region has a pronounced diurnal climate, the monthly average temperatures vary only slightly between 8 ° C in June / July and 13 ° C from November to March.
