Chayanta is a province in the northern part of the department of Potosí in the highlands of South American Andes State of Bolivia.

Location

The Chayanta province is one of sixteen provinces in the Potosí Department. It extends between 18 ° 23 'and 19 ° 6' south latitude and between 65 ° 23 ' and 66 ° 19 ' west longitude. It is bordered on the north by the province of Charcas, in the northwest of the province Rafael Bustillo, on the west by the department of Oruro, on the south by the province of Tomás Frías, on the southeast by the provincial Cornelio Saavedra, and on the east by the department of Chuquisaca. The province extends about 125 km in east-west direction and 100 kilometers in north-south direction.
