The Trondheim Black Panthers were a Norwegian ice hockey club from Trondheim, which was founded in 1986 and dissolved in 2008. The home games were played at the 2,500-seat comprehensive Leangen Ishall.

History

Founded in calendar year 1986 Trondheim Ishockeyklubb finished 2003 ranked fourth in the highest Norwegian league. After the sixth rank was achieved in the following year, succeeded by reaching the second place in the 2004/05 season, the best finish in the top division, now GET ligaen. During that season the NHL player Mark Bell was during the lockout for the Black Panthers in use. In the following two years, the team secured until the playout to remain in the top division. The team sat for the 2007 /08 season due to financial difficulties of the league play and was disbanded after the season.

In addition, the club took part in the 1997 edition of the IIHF Continental Cup and sat down in the first round with two wins and a draw against Tilburg Trappers, Nijmegen Tigers and Esbjerg IK through. In the second round, followed by three defeats against polar bears Berlin, Vålerenga Ishockey and Grenoble Métropole Hockey 38 departure from the competition.

In 2003, the team representing the highest Norwegian league at the discharge of the Ahearne Cup and met on the Belfast Giants and Coventry Blaze in the British Ice Hockey Superleague. The two matches ended with victories in each of the British team, which therefore decided to host in 2003 for themselves.
