Planning

For some years it is planned to establish new or reactivated breakpoints on the Tübingen - Rottenburg section, including Buhl, Kilchberg and Weilheim. However, a doubling of the track is to partially necessary. Several times was electrifying as a detour route for the Gäubahn section Horb -Stuttgart in conversation.

For several years, there are considerations to integrate the route in and build up the Karlsruhe model tram-train Neckar -Alb. Here, too, an electrification would be necessary. On the basis of the general financial problems, however, a conversion is not currently in sight.
