Bad Niedernau is a district of Rottenburg am Neckar in the administrative district of Tübingen in Baden- Württemberg ( Germany ). Since 1936, the place may lead the official nickname of " Bad".

Geographical location

Bad Niedernau is about three kilometers southwest of Rottenburg Neckar Valley in 349-475 meters altitude. The place is on the right of the river Neckar at the opening to Katzenbachtal, a side valley of the Neckar Valley. The Katzenbach originates on the Gäuhochfläche at Dettingen and coming through the village from the south east. As a right tributary it flows into the Neckar.

Bad Niedernau has 569 inhabitants (as of January 2008) and is one of the smaller districts of Rottenburg. The district area of the town is 4.10 km ². This corresponds to a population density of 139 inhabitants per square kilometer.

History

History

Niedernau is first mentioned in 1127. Occasion of mention was the consecration of the chapel Konrad. After 1280, the Lords of Ehingen build on the Katzenbachtal the Ehingerburg. This was 1407 but destroyed during a feud with the Earl of Zollern.

Niedernau was part of the county of Hohenberg and came with the sale of this 1381 western Austria. From the 15th century the site of the countryside of Lower Hohenberg belonged to. Ecclesiastical Niedernau belonged to the parish of St. Remigius in Ehingen (now a part of Rottenburg ). 1339 the parish was incorporated into the Canons of St. Moriz. In 1806 Niedernau was given its own parish. The present church of St. Konrad was built in the 18th century.

With the County Hohenberg Niedernau came in 1806 with the Kingdom of Württemberg. 1807 was assigned to the newly formed Oberamt Rottenburg. As the chief official was dissolved in 1938 came to the district of the place of Tübingen. On December 1, 1971 Bad Niedernau was incorporated into the city of Rottenburg am Neckar.

History of Bath

In the year 1471 is mentioned for the first time a " sour Bronnen ". 1804 buys the doctor and Member of Parliament Dr. Franz Xaver Raidt the small bathroom in Niedernau. Therefore, the place could lose its nickname again soon.

Traffic

Bad Niedernau is located on the L 370 between Horb and Rottenburg. In public transport buses of the lines 7626 and 7629 between Horb and Rottenburg or Felldorf. The place is located in the comb 112 of the Transport Association Neckar -Alb -Donau.

Since 1864 Bad Niedernau is also station of the railway in the Upper Neckar Railway between Tübingen and Horb. The station is located some distance north-east of the village.
