History

Obernau 1385 first mentioned. A local castle Ouwe but is not mentioned since 1095 as the seat of the Knights of Ow, to those with a certain probability, the poet Hartmann von Aue belonged. Since 1467 the parsonage was managed by the Canons Regular of St. Moriz in Rottenburg. Only since the dissolution of the congregation in 1806, the parish became independent.
