Action
Jack Andrus was once a Hollywood star. As his fame faded, he succumbed to alcohol. His marriage failed. After a serious car accident and a nervous breakdown, he spent three years in a sanatorium in New England. Finally, he receives an offer for a small role in a costume drama by Maurice Kruger. Kruger was once the director, Jack owed his great career. The shooting will take place in Rome's movie studio Cinecitta. Maurice Kruger Even though past its best as a director already behind. In Rome, Jack meets his divorced wife Carlotta and learns that his role is already taken. The entire production is in big trouble and Jack will monitor the synchronization of the film. Jack feels again be the loser and consoles himself with the pretty Italian girl Veronica. Veronica, however, is in love with the lead actor of the film, Davie Drew. One night has a heart attack and director Kruger arrives at the hospital. Jack promises Kruger's wife Clara that he leads the production for his former mentor to an end. He throws himself into the work with success and strives to paternal Veronica and Davie. As Kruger learned of the positive progress of the work Jack, he attacks him and accuses him of trying to steal his film. Jack then leaves the production and returns to his ex-wife Carlotta. The night ends in a drunken stupor and a wild car ride. Finally, Jack realizes that he himself is responsible for his life. He says goodbye to Veronica and Davie and flying to Hollywood.
