Ãœnal Karaman

Ünal Karaman ( born June 29, 1966 in Konya ) is a former Turkish football player and current coach. In 2009, he was obliged sports director of Trabzonspor. In February 2010 he has been appointed under head coach Senol Güneş to the wizard. In this role, he is the closest confidant of Güneş.

Playing career

Association

Karaman began his career at Konyaspor, where he has begun between 1981 and 1984 as an amateur his active career. He then moved to Gaziantepspor where he played three years until the end of the 1987 season. The breakthrough in professional football, he managed at Malatyaspor. Between 1987 and 1990 he scored 23 goals in 91 games. From 1990, followed nine successful years in Trabzonspor, where he was a regular player for the rest of the team was. He was employed in his career mainly as a midfielder. For Trabzonspor, he scored 47 goals in 218 games. At the end of his career he played in the 1999/2000 season for 20 games for MKE Ankaragucu in which he scored four goals.

National

He could recommend his services for the Turkish national team. Karaman was appointed 1985-1996 in the national team, where scored three goals in 36 internationals. For the U -21, he completed between 1985 and 1987 five international matches, where he scored one goal. As a player of the U-18 he was before 1984, three times in action and brought it to a hit.

Coaching career

After his career as a football player, he was assistant to Şenol Güneş the Turkish national team. They were in 2002 with Turkey third in the World Championship.

On 31 March 2004 Karaman served as interim coach the Turkish national football team in the game against the Croatian national football team after the dismissal of Şenol Güneş.
