United States Senate Committee on Foreign Relations

The U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, the Committee of the Senate of the United States foreign policy. The Committee dealt with the legislation on foreign policy of the United States. Together with the financial and the Judiciary Committee, he is among the oldest of the Senate and has existed since the introduction of committees in 1816.

He is responsible to monitor the development of U.S. aid, as well as the financing and control of arms sales and training of U.S. allies. The Committee shall consider the appointment of senior diplomats from the United States. Among the important matters that the Committee has decided to include the purchase of Alaska in 1867 and the founding of the United Nations 1945. His sister committee in the House of Representatives is the House Committee on Foreign Affairs.
