Ústí (Jihlava District)

Ústí until 1921: Oustí ( German Austie ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 15 kilometers north- west of Jihlava and belongs to Okres Jihlava.

Geography

Ústí is situated in the Křemešnická Highlands, part of the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands. The village is located on the right side of the creek Hejnický on the hill Panský Kopec. To the west, the Bojanovský ( 665 m) and Novákovsko rise (610 m ) south of the Čihadlo (664 m ) and in the east of Strážník (713 m).

Neighboring towns are Krasoňov, Nemecek and Hejště in the north, Pavlov u Herálce in the northeast, Kalhov in the east, and Branišov Šimanov the southeast, Zbilidy in the south, and Dudín Buková the southwest, Mysletín in the west and Stare Bříště in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the town was made in 1272 in the wake of the sale of mining rights to the silver mines of Oustí to the city of Jihlava. In 1415, the site was mentioned as part of the rule Windy Jenikau. 1453 the village belonged to Nicholas Trček of Lipa, in the following year his son inherited the rule Burian. 1601 sold the Trček of Lipa possession of Matthias Stubegg Knights of Königstein ( Matyas Štubík z Königštejna ). 1619 was Magdalena Trček Lobkowicz owner of the village. During the Thirty Years' War Oustí was separated from Windy Jenikau and belonged from 1635 together with Mysletín, Šimanov, Buková Vorlovi and the Court to rule Hejště Branišov. Until 1770 Branišov grew to the actual center of the domain, in this time, the church and rectory emerged. After the Edict of Joseph II in 1775, after which, a chapel was build in each village that had no church, the village chapel of Oustí arose.

The village's name was changed in 1921 in Ústí. Legal basis for this was ordered by the Czechoslovak government on April 14, 1920 review of all place names in the country.

The municipality consists of the districts of Ústí Branišov ( Branschau ) and Usti ( Austie ), the settlements Nemecek ( Nemecek ) and Hejště ( Hejst ) and several Einödhöfen.
