Valentino SpA

The Valentino SpA is a 1960 by the Italian fashion designer Valentino Garavani founded, internationally renowned fashion company, which is run since 2008 without the company's founder.

The Valentino brand is settled with Haute Couture fashion for women, ready-made clothing for men and women, accessories, leather goods, watches, jewelry and perfumes in the upper price segment. Company History

The Valentino SpA was founded in 1960 by fashion designer Valentino Garavani ( born 1932 ) and his business and life partner Giancarlo temporary Giammetti founded in Rome after Valentino had fallen in building their own business from 1959 into financial difficulties. In 2002, the Italian Marzotto group took over the company from Valentino HdP for 240 million euros (of which 204 million were liabilities, and the purchase price was only 36 million euros ) in 2005 and founded the Valentino Fashion Group. Valentino's contract was extended for another five years. In October 2007, Valentino Garavani announced in January 2008 to his retirement from the company, after the British private equity firm Permira in mid-2007 had acquired a majority stake in Valentino Fashion Group and his contract was not renewed as a designer for the brand Valentino. The haute couture show in Paris in January 2008 was the date last appearance of Valentino Garavani at the end of one of his fashion shows.

Permira began in the spring of 2008, the Italian fashion designer Alessandra Facchinetti - previously a designer at Miu Miu, Gucci and Moncler - as a successor Valentinos, initiated a profound restructuring and presented some brands within a portfolio of Valentino. Mid-2012 bought the royal family of Qatar on the financial services company Mayhoola that belongs to the sovereign wealth fund Qatar Investment Authority ( QIA), the Valentino Fashion Group, and thus the Valentino brand, from Permira for an estimated 700 million euros.
