Vallegrande Municipality

The municipality of Valle Grande (also: Valle Grande) (Spanish for "Big Valley " ) is a district in the department of Santa Cruz in the South American Andes State of Bolivia.

The municipality of Valle Grande is one of five Municipalities of the province of Valle Grande and includes the central areas of the province. It is bordered to the north by the municipality of Trigal, on the northwest by the municipality of Moro Moro and the Cochabamba Department, to the west by the municipality of Pucara, on the southwest by the department of Chuquisaca, in the southeast of the province of Cordillera, to the east by the municipality of Postrer Valle, and on the northeast by the province of Florida.

The municipality extends between about 18 ° 17 'and 19 ° 10' south latitude and 63 ° 32 'and 64 ° 18 ' west longitude, its extension from west to east is up to 65 km and from north to south, up to 90 km.

Geography

The municipality of Valle Grande is located in the transition zone between the Andes mountain range of the Cordillera Oriental in the north and the Cordillera Central in the south-west, and the Bolivian lowlands to the east. The climate in the sheltered valleys is mild all year round and balanced, not as hot and humid as in the nearby lowlands.
