Veľký Šariš

Velky Saris ( German wholesale damage Rosch, Hungarian Nagysáros ) is a city in eastern Slovakia with 5404 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011).

It was first mentioned in writing in 1217 as Sarus and is divided into the place and Velky Saris Kanas. Above the village, the ruins of the castle damage Rosh rises ( Šarišský hrad ).

The best known company in the city is the Pivovar Saris brewery in the Pivovarska ( " Brauereistraße " ), where, among other things the well-known even in Germany Smädný Mních ( Thirsty Monk) is produced, a 12% export beer.
