Vielle-Louron

Vielle -Louron is a commune with 81 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Hautes -Pyrénées in the Midi-Pyrénées region. It belongs administratively to the district Bagneres- de -Bigorre and Canton Bordères -Louron.

Geography

The municipality is located in the historical county of Bigorre, in the Pays d' Aure. Neighboring municipalities are:

  • Avajan in the north,
  • Cazaux- Fréchet - Anéran Camors in the east,
  • Gouaux -de- Larboust in the southeast,
  • Adervielle - Pouchergues in the south,
  • Grailhen in the West, as well as
  • Gouaux in the northwest.

The location of the community is the main town on the left flank of the Vallée du Louron above the valley, across the river Neste you Louron, which runs along the valley floor through Bordères -Louron. The majority of its territory is mostly impassable mountains and forest at altitudes up to 2000 meters dar. Since this is hardly settled, resulting in a total very low population density.
