Vitaliy Rahimov

Vitaly Rakhimov (born 27 August 1984) is an Azerbaijani wrestler. He won a silver medal in Greco-Roman wrestling at featherweight at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.

Career

Vitaly Rakhimov began in 1994 with the rings. It focuses on the Greco-Roman style and is one of the sports club Neftchi Baku. Since the beginning of his career, he is trained by wrestler Wagib Fesulajew. At a size of 1.66 meters, he first started out in the featherweight and lightweight wrestling since 2010. He is a physical education teacher.

The international career of Vitaly Rahimow began in 2001, where he worked in Izmir European Junior Champion ( Cadet ) was in the weight class up to 54 kg body weight. In the European Junior Championships in 2002 in Subotica, he came bantamweight only on the 7th Place and in the Junior World Championship 2003 in Istanbul, he was far away with a 9th place out of the medals.

In 2004 he succeeded at his first race with the seniors, the Olympic qualifying tournament in Tashkent, to qualify with a 4th place at featherweight for the Olympics this year in Athens.
