Vladimir Barnachov

Vladimir Mikhailovich Barnaschow (Russian: Владимир Михайлович Барнашов, born February 26, 1951) is a former Russian biathlete who competed for the Soviet Union.

Barnaschow was from 1977 a member of the Soviet biathlon team and won at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid with the Soviet relay gold medal. Bronze medal with the Soviet team, he reached at the Biathlon World Championships in 1979, 1981 and 1982. Single in his greatest success was the third place in the World Cup 1978/1979 behind Klaus Siebert and Frank Ullrich. He later became coach of the national team, he held the office from 1984 to 1992.
