Vladimír Bouzek

Vladimír Bouzek ( born December 3, 1920 in Třebíč, Czechoslovakia, † July 31, 2006 ) was a Czech football player, hockey players and coaches, the German champions in ice hockey was twice as coach with the EV Füssen and two years in charge of the German national team.

Career

Vladimír Bouzek was active in several sports. He was not only National Hockey player of the Czechoslovak Republic 1946-1949, he brought it to 1950-1951 on three international matches in football.

In 1935, he started at Horacka Slavia Třebíč and played there until he moved for one year to Zbrojovka Brno Brno 1948. By 1953, he was then at Vítkovické Železárny as player-coach and was there also national champion in 1952. Between 1953 and 1955 he played for SK Kralove Pole in Brno, 1958-1960 finally Spartak Třebíč. Internationally, he brought it to 20 matches with 17 goals. 1947 and 1949 he was World Champion in 1948 he won at the Olympics and World Championships silver medal.

He also played football for Slavia Horacka Třebíč ( 1935-1943 ), SK Slezská Ostrava ( 1943-1949 ), Vítkovické Zelezarny ( 1949-1953 ), TJ Slavia Bratislava VŠ (1953 /54) and last for Spartak Třebíč (1955 /56).

At the University in Brno he was after his active career professor of geography and sport. He also coached the successful HC Kometa Brno. Ten league titles were the best possible application as a hockey coach Czechoslovakia. Interrupted he had his time in Brno for a season 1959/60. He coached the team Dynamo Berlin.

Through his efforts he was allowed in 1967 to move to the German Bundesliga. At that time 46 years old dared to him at his new club, the EV Füssen but not too much to. The former series champion was on the wane. Last year, only the fourth and some disposals were not good sign. But Bouzek changed Füssen play, away from the fighting game towards a better technology. This change brought success, and so he led the EV Füssen to league titles in 1968 and 1969.

Already after the first title was won the German Ice Hockey Federation Bouzek for the national team. Together with Markus Egen he edited the German team at the World Championships B- 1968. After a disappointing fourth place, he succeeded a year later with Ernst Trautwein together to gang the rise in the A group. From 1976 to 1978 he coached again the EV Fussen, but the great times were there in Fussen already over.

In 2007 he was honored for his achievements with induction into the IIHF Hall of Fame.
