Vodnjan

Vodnjan (Italian Dignano ) is a city in Croatia. It is located on a hill on the west bank of the Istria County, about 10 km north of Pula. The place is officially bilingual, Italian and Croatian. In addition, the Istriotische language is spoken.

The place is characterized by numerous buildings of Gothic and Renaissance, including a fort dating back to 1300. Already in Roman times it was the location under the name Vicus Attinianum.

In the church of Vodnjan is the second largest collection of relics of Europe, which also includes the mummies of Vodnjan.
