From the Skyline to the curb back (short VdSzBz ) is the fourth solo album by rapper Bushido Berlin. It was published ersguterjunge on 4 September 2006 on Bushido's label and distributed through Universal. It is the last album that Bushido published in collaboration with Universal and was a commercial success. In From the Skyline Bushido waived for the first time on any guest contributions from other musicians. It debuted at No. 2 in Germany and in Austria at # 3 on the album charts. 2007 came it was the first Bushido album platinum status in Germany for more than 200,000 units sold. In Austria it was awarded a gold record. Until the appearance of Bushido's follow-up album 7 it was thus its hitherto successful publication. In addition, the album in 2007 with an echo in the category Artists / artist / group of the year Hip- Hop / R & B ( national) was excellent. Since 2010, the album may not be sold due to copyright infringement.

Background

The name is based on his first solo album From the curb to the Skyline, which was released in 2003 on Aggro Berlin. The album is considered by many critics as a landmark of the German rape. Half a year after the album's release to Bushido separated from his former label and signed a contract with Universal, where he released two more solo albums from front of the skyline to the curb back with Electro Ghetto and Public Enemy No. 1. With the skyline of the curb return Bushido did not, as the title suggests, publish a successor to From the curb to the skyline, but make in relation to his previous two albums a more musical approach to this.

The album is so far represents a special case in that it is a pure solo album and first Bushido does not use any features. After representation Bushido's the reason for this was mainly that the album in February 2006 was the publication of the first ersguterjunge label sampler album and at the time of the album creation in December 2006 with Vendetta already another publication of this kind have been planned. Copyright Infringement

According to the neoclassical band Dark Sanctuary Bushido has served for the album in at least eight cases of their songs. The loops Bushido has repeatedly cut and laid over a new text. As a composer only Bushido was given. An out of court settlement failed. The Hamburg Regional Court sentenced Bushido on 23 March 2010 on the application of equitable compensation for non-pecuniary damage. The judge said to Dark Sanctuary damages, partly because Bushido had placed without permission of the composer 's texts about their music. The offending titles all had to be taken from the sale.

Reception

Criticism

From the Skyline to the curb back received mostly positive reviews. The EZine laut.de gave the album 4 stars out of 5 and stated that they would have the artist " simply no longer have expected " an album at this level. In particular, the complete absence of Bushido on Guest Posts has been praised by reviewers. The title Universal Soldier, tanning Flavour, alpha dog and you know what, you're what have been highlighted in terms of atmospheric highlights of the album. Commercial success
