The Walygator Park is an amusement park in the north of Lorraine. It is located around 15 kilometers north of Metz, in the municipalities of Maizières- lès -Metz and Hagondange. It covers an area of 42 hectares and has a total of 50 attractions.

History

The park was on May 9, 1989 as " BigBang Smurf " opens ( under the name " Smurf " Smurfs are known in French ), but was sold to the Belgian Walibi Group due to financial problems in 1990. 1991 saw the re- opening of the park with the new name " Walibi Smurf ".

As part of the acquisition of the Walibi group by Premier Walibi Smurf has been renamed to " Walibi Lorraine" 1998. The Smurf theme was so completely abandoned, but is still partially visible today in old buildings.

In 2006 the park from the Walibi Group, which now belonged to StarParks was removed and sold to the brothers Claude and Didier Douarin, who continued the Park until the end of the season under the old name and restored in the following winter break and have changed. In April 2007, the park opened for the first time under the present name " Walygator Parc ".

The for sale inverted coaster manufacturer Bolliger & Mabillard Orochi from the Expo land in Japan was transferred to Walygator Park 2010. This roller coaster is a copy of the Inverted Coasters Raptor from the American amusement park Cedar Point. The opening of another roller coaster from the Expo land, a wild mouse from Mack Rides, was originally planned for 2011.
