Warren Louis Boudreaux

Warren Louis Boudreaux ( born January 25, 1918 in Berwick, Louisiana; † 6 October 1997 ) was an American clergyman and the first Bishop of Houma - Thibodaux.

Life

Warren Louis Boudreaux received on 30 May 1942, the sacrament of Holy Orders for the Diocese of Lafayette.

Pope John XXIII. appointed him on 19 May 1962 as Titular Bishop of Calynda and auxiliary bishop in Lafayette. He received his episcopal consecration of the Apostolic Delegate in the United States, Archbishop Egidio Vagnozzi, on July 25th of that year; Co-consecrators were the Apostolic Administrator of New Orleans, John Patrick Cody, and the Bishop of Lafayette, Maurice Schexnayder.

As Bishop Boudreaux attended all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council.

Pope Paul VI. appointed Boudreaux on June 4, 1971 for the Bishop of Beaumont. The inauguration was followed on August 25 of the same year.

On 2 March 1977, he was called by Pope Paul VI. appointed the first Bishop of Houma - Thibodaux and introduced into the office on June 5 of that year.
