Weinmeisterstraße (Berlin U-Bahn)

Metro Station Weinmeisterstrasse is a station on line U8 of the Berlin U -Bahn in the district center of the eponymous street. It was opened on 18 April 1930 and bears in station list the name of the LOB W. The station has no elevator, only stairs to exit the platform and is therefore referred to as non-accessible.

Around six meters located under the Weinmeisterstrasse, Metro Station has an up to eight -meter-wide central platform and is covered with blue tiles. Like many other stations also this was designed by Alfred Grenander.

Due to its location in the narrow street between the houses directly foundations could not be built on the sidewalks, the additions, they had to be integrated into the adjoining house fronts. Today, two entrances are on the sidewalks.

From 13 August 1961 to 1 July 1990, this station was a " ghost station ", which trains the BVG drove without stopping by through the nearby train station in East Berlin.

At the metro station is a transfer possibility from the U8 to the streetcar line M1 of the Berlin Transport Authority.
