Contact is a municipality in North Rhine -Westphalia, Germany, and belongs to the district of Olpe in the Sauerland. It is the southernmost municipality of the Sauerland.

Geographical Location

Apply lies in the southern part of the district of Olpe within the Natural Park Ebbegebirge. It is drained by the Bigge inflow turn, opens into the inside of the village of Bach Albe ( from the north ). History

Middle Ages

The parish church of Wenden was originally a branch church of Olpe. The age of the steeple points out that the original church building was erected in the 12th century. Even in 1313 it is referred to as a chapel. The patronage changed over time from St. John the Baptist, to the Holy Severin, because the cast was right at the pin Severin in Cologne. A regionally important place of pilgrimage for Catholics is situated in the forest the Dörnschlade, between the hamlets of Wenden, turning and Altenhof. Peter Brüser, CDU member and formerly erected by the CDU, sat down at the municipal election in 2004 as an independent candidate by a large margin against the nominees of the CDU Anthony Half by. Theater

Around 30 music and choral societies, including many champion choirs, still affect through concerts and other performances, the cultural and social life of the community.

The pilgrimage chapel Dörnschlade has been built in the middle of the 19th century. The chapel is located near the town Altenhof and is easily accessible via the connecting road between Wenden and turning. On Sundays after the feast of the Visitation (July 2 ) and the Nativity of Mary (8 September ) are held processions of Altenhof and turning to Dörnschlade, which are then finished with church services at the Dörnschlade.

Natural Monuments

The Bigge source is near the village of Romans Hagen. A stream refers to the coming of the spring, still quite low water and fills after 16 km of one of the largest lakes in Germany, the Bigge.

The municipality Wenden is opened up by two motorways:

  • A 4 (E 40) Aachen- Görlitz junction: Contact ( at the motorway junction Olpe- Süd) and

However, no highway passes through the community. Main roads are the highways L342, L512, L564, L714 and L905.

Bus and rail transport

In the road passenger transport operate numerous bus lines that connect the contact with its neighboring towns and cities.
