The Whitewater Township is one of 10 townships in Cape Girardeau County in the southeast of the U.S. state of Missouri.

Geography

The Whitewater Township is located approximately 35 km west of the Mississippi River, which forms the border with Illinois. The mouth of the Ohio at Cairo at the interface of the states of Missouri, Illinois and Kentucky is located around 90 km south-east.

The Whitewater Township is located at 37 ° 27'10 " north latitude and 89 ° 48'16 " west longitude and extending over 94.54 km ², spread over 94.41 km ² land and 0.13 km ² water surface.

The Whitewater Township is drained by the Whitewater River, which flows at Whitewater in the more southern Hubble Township in the Headwater Diversion Channel. In the north of Whitewater Township, the Maintz Wildlife Preserve, a 342 -acre recreation area is located.
