Wotje Atoll

Wotje ( German outdated: Ruman Zoff Islands ) is an atoll in the Ratak Chain of the Marshall Islands in the Pacific.
Geography
The atoll has a land area of 8 km ², with a lagoon area of 624 km ². There are four churches on Wotje. The Catholic, the Protestant, the Assembly of God and the Full Gospel. On the island also are also four schools. The Wodmej school that Wotje Elementary School, led by the Catholic Sisters of St. Thomas Primary School and the High School of the islands of the North.
Traffic
The island has an airfield ( IATA code: WTE ) over the goods such as rice and sugar are flown. In addition, there is a purchased from the island administration ship, the Northern Star, which is used by islanders for excursions.
History
Aircraft wrecks, destroyed Japanese military airfield and other remnants of the Japanese occupation make the island a destination for those interested the Second World War.
The islanders celebrate on 9 June each year, the Freedom Day on which the exemption is celebrated by the Japanese.
