Yuki Bhambri

Yuki Bhambri (Hindi: यूकी भांबरी, born July 4, 1992 New Delhi ) is an Indian tennis player and winner of the 2009 Australian Open in the junior competition.

Career

2008 Bhambri managed as a junior jump into the semifinals of the Australian Open, where he lost to local hero Bernard Tomic in three sets. In the same year he won the Junior Davis Cup and the Orange Bowl, one of the most important tournaments for young talent. 2009 finally follow the success at the Australian Open, where he clearly won against Alexandros - Ferdi Georgoudas from Germany in only 57 minutes 6-3, 6-1 in the final. With the Summer Olympic Games for Juniors 2010 Bhambri also took the silver medal for his country in the finals he had against Juan Sebastian Gomez at a score of 7:6, 6:7, 1:4 to give up due to injury. As a junior, the Indians on 2 February 2009 reached the first world ranking.

On the ATP Tour Bhambri made his debut at the Masters tournament in Miami in 2009, where he failed in the first round to Diego Junqueira. The following April, he scored the first two tournament wins on the ITF Futures Tour in his home country, in the year followed by three more titles in India. On September 18, 2009 Bhambri made his debut in the Davis Cup against Izak van der Merwe, he 3:6, 6:3, 6:4 defeated. He tried in early 2010 in the qualifying tournaments of various ATP competitions, for the entry into the main draw but it was not enough. At the tournament in Kuala Lumpur Bhambri was qualified for the main draw and defeated in the first round Yew -Ming Si 6-2, 6-0, but lost in round two David Ferrer 2-6, defeated 2:6.

In March 2011 Bhambri won another Futures tournament in his home country.
