Yury Petrov

Yuri Anatoljevich Petrov (Russian Юрий Анатольевич Петров; born March 30, 1984 in Togliatti, Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who is since May 2012 Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in the Kontinental Hockey League contract.

Career

Yuri Petrov began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior department of the HK Lada Togliatti, for the second team, he was active in the third-class Perwaja League from 2002 to 2004. From 2003 to 2005, played the attacker partially parallel to the first team of the ZSK WWS Samara Wysschaja League, the second Russian league. For the season 2005/ 06 he moved to the league rivals HC Traktor Chelyabinsk, with whom he rose immediately as second division champions in the Super League. In this in 50 games he scored in the 2006/07 season a goal for Chelyabinsk and gave five assists.

From 2007 to 2010 Petrov was for his hometown club HK Lada Togliatti on the ice - first in the Super League and from the 2008/09 season in the Kontinental Hockey League newly established. For the season 2010/11 the Russians signed a contract with Sibir Novosibirsk HK, where he was one of the assistant captains.

Since May 2012 Petrov stands at Lokomotiv Yaroslavl under contract.
