Yuto Nagatomo (Japanese长 友 佑 都, Nagatomo Yuto, born September 12, 1986 in Saijō ) is a Japanese football player.

Club career

Nagatomo had in his youth played in teams of its schools and in 2005 the team of Meiji University before the FC Tokyo took him in the summer of 2007 under contract. Since 2008, the full-back was there a regular in the J. League. His biggest success with the team in 2009 was winning the League Cup.

In July 2010 he spent a year on loan to newly promoted Serie A AC Cesena Italy. The association has also pledged an option for permanent commitment. On January 28, 2011 Cesena took this option true. National

After a few months at FC Tokyo Nagatomo made ​​his debut in the Japanese national team on 24 May 2008 against the selection of the Ivory Coast. In the same year he took part in the Japan Olympic tournament. The 1.70 m wide, nimble defender quickly established himself in the national team. With the successful qualification for the FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa, he came six times used. As a regular player in the World Cup squad of the Japanese, he completed all three group matches and the knockout stages, where the Japanese selection was eliminated against the Paraguayan national team.
