Želimir Vuković

Želimir Vukovic ( born April 29, 1983 in Adinkuru, France) is a Serbian skier. It starts mostly in the slalom and giant slalom.

Vukovic was first Frenchman, but changed 2004/2005 his nationality and was a Serb. At this time he had since starting his career in 1998 consisting exclusively FIS races and other competitions niederklassige, also he had gone both in French and in Yugoslav championships at the start. While he had no chance at the French Championships, he often reached one of the ten best places in the Yugoslav competitions.

After he had participated for the first time at the Alpine World Ski Championships in Bormio, in February 2005, there, however, the goal is not reached in both competitions, he end of the year also succeeded for the first time in the World Cup. In Kranjska Gora and in Adelboden he came again but not to the finish, so he could not start for another World Cup. Nevertheless Vukovic was appointed to the levy of the then still Serbian and Montenegrin team as the only skiers for the Olympic Wiunterspiele in Turin in 2006.

In Turin he could not achieve a result, he was disqualified. Thus, his appearances were limited in the following year, again exclusively on FIS and unterklassige race. His next major international competition was the 2007 Alpine World Ski Championships in Åre, where he once again missed a placement.

In his career Vukovic won three FIS races and fourteen times, come four times in the giant slalom and slalom times on the podium. In addition, he triumphed again at the Yugoslav championships in slalom and came several times at national championships on the podium.
