Charles Adkins (politician)

Charles Adkins ( born February 7, 1863 Pickaway County, Ohio, † March 31, 1941 in Decatur, Illinois ) was an American politician. Between 1925 and 1933 he represented the state of Illinois in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Charles Adkins attended the common schools and worked for several years as a teacher. In 1885 he moved to the Piatt County, Illinois, where he was engaged in farming. He became president of the Piatt County Farmers ' Institute in its new home. Between 1900 and 1920 he sat in the education committee of the city Bement. Politically, he was a member of the Republican Party. From 1902 to 1906 he belonged to the District Council in Piatt County.
