Ciminà

Ciminà ( in Greco- Calabrian dialect: Kymina ) is a municipality ( comune ) in the southern Italian province of Reggio Calabria in Calabria and has 591 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012). The village is located approximately 45.5 km east-northeast of Reggio Calabria in the Aspromonte National Park. Nine kilometers southeast of Ciminà the coastline runs to the Ionian Sea.

History

The founding of the church dates back to the conquest of Constantinople by the Ottomans in 1453, making a large emigration movement from Greece and Albania was raised in southern Italy and led to the establishment.
