Hollnich

Hollnich is a municipality in the Rhein- Hunsrück district, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Kastellaun.

The two districts are Hollnich and Gammelshausen.

History

Hollnich belonged in the Middle Ages to the county Katzenelenbogen. The Counts of Sponheim had income from the site. With the occupation of the left bank of the Rhine in 1794 by French revolutionary troops, the place was French, 1815, he was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia at the Congress of Vienna. Since 1946 it has been part of Rhineland- Palatinate damsls newly formed.

Parish council

The local council in Hollnich consists of eight council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.
