Maisborn

Maisborn is a municipality in the Rhein- Hunsrück district, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Emmelshausen. Maisborn is a nationally recognized resort.

History

Maisborn is to Worms with Hermann von Milwalt mentioned in 1275 in a comparison of the Chapter of St. Martin as Mennichisburnen first time. In this comparison it comes to tithing in Maisborn and surrounding villages, the family of those held by Milwalt for generations. At least half of the village must have been those of Milwalt at this time allodial. In 1330 the Wepeling Theodoric of Milewald wears 1330 then half the village and 1333 the jurisdiction of Mens Born Kurtrier fief on.

In the 15th century it arrived on an unknown path to the duchy of Pfalz- simmering. From 1673 Maisborn belonged to the Palatinate. With the occupation of the left bank of the Rhine in 1794 by French revolutionary troops, the place was French. In 1815 he was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia at the Congress of Vienna. Since 1946 it has been part of Rhineland- Palatinate then newly founded.

The local council in Maisborn consists of six council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

The coat of arms description reads: " Split the front in black and a rotbewehrter, gezungter - and -crowned golden lion, the back under blue-gold geschachtem box in silver a blue bowl with split fountain water jet ".
