Lettomanoppello
Lettomanoppello is a municipality with 2982 inhabitants and is located near Scafa and Manoppello in the province of Pescara. A part of the territory of the municipality lies within the boundaries of the National Park of Maiella.
Geography
Among the districts ( fractions) are Chiuse, Fonte Marte and Lavino.
Borders the following municipalities: Abbateggio, Manoppello, Pretoro, Roccamorice, Scafa, Serramonacesca and Turrivalignani.
History
In the documents of the Middle Ages the town was mentioned as Lectio Prope Manoppellum. The village is medieval in origin and has long been one of the community Manopello. In the seventh century it was taken over by the diocese of Chieti. The community Lettomanoppello for many centuries already has many stocks of minerals. The white rocks, the abundant there in the community, provided by the Maiella Mountains.
Specialty
In the surroundings of the village vines of Montepulciano are grown for the DOC wine Montepulciano d'Abruzzo.
