Nehmten

Nehmten is a municipality in the district of Plön, in Schleswig- Holstein. The name derives from the noble estate was Nehmten.

Geography and transport

The county town of Plön is located about 12 km north of Nehmten, the state capital Kiel about 35 km to the northwest. Nehmten borders the counties Segeberg and East Holstein.

The municipality consists of the villages Bredenbek, Godau, Sepel and the scattered settlements Vogelsang, Sands, Pehmen, Pehmerhörn, Pehmerfelde and Stadtbek.

Nehmten is in the Holstein Switzerland Nature Park. Currently a project for the restoration of 116 acres of meadows along the Tens fields Au is present.

History

1244 Nehmten was first documented with the corresponding village Godau 1351 the estate Pehmen, 1433 for the Good Nehmten belonging Sepel village and in 1649 the village Bredenbek.

The distinctive castle of the noble good Nehmten, which is located right on the Great Plön Lake, was built around 1712 and extended to 1850. From the northern portal is through the park a direct line of sight to the Plön Castle. The manor house manor park along with various avenues and is protected as a cultural monument.

In 1889 the former ducal Plönsche Kammergut Pehmen that the Office Plön was a member since 1638, and the village Bredenbek were merged to form the rural community Pehmen - Bredenbek.

On 1 October 1928, the municipality Nehmten from the Gutsbezirk Nehmten and the rural community Pehmen - Bredenbek was formed.

Policy

Since the local elections of 2013, the voters Community AWFN four seats, the SPD and the three Wählergemeinschaft ACT two of the nine seats in the municipal council.
