Wisch, Plön

Wiping is a municipality in the district of Plön, in Schleswig- Holstein. The municipal area, the settlement belongs Heidkate.

Geography and transport

Wiping is located about 17 km northeast of Kiel on the Baltic Sea. The Federal Highway 502 from Kiel to Schönberg ( Holstein) runs through the community. The municipality has a nearly four -kilometer-long natural beach.

Wiping is part of the transport network region Kiel. The nearest train station is in the passenger Kiel main station, 20 kilometers southwest located. The nearest train yard, Schönberg ( Holst ) is just five kilometers south-east.

The municipality belongs to the recreation area Kolberger Heath.

History

Wiping was first built in 1216, but destroyed before 1260 in a Baltic storm surge, and then built on a eastern hill again.

Since 1986, a 4.5 m high dike protects the beach and recreation area Heidkate.

In 2002, a very detailed, 573 -page chronicle appeared over the village.

Policy

Of the nine seats in the municipal council has the voter community UWW since the local elections 2008 five and four seats, the SPD.
