St. Thomas ' (also Saint Thomas ) is a municipality in Upper Austria in the Gries district churches in Hausruckviertel with 514 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013). The municipality is located in the judicial district of Gries churches.

Geography

St. Thomas is located at 393 m altitude in Hausruckviertel. The expansion is 2.6 kilometers from north to south, from west to east 4.4 km away. The total area is 6.1 km ². 9.8% of the area is forested, 82 % of the land used for agriculture.

History

Originally in the eastern part of the Duchy of Bavaria lying, was the place since the 12th century the Duchy of Austria. Since 1490 he is the Principality ' Austria above the Enns ' attributed. During the Napoleonic Wars, the place was occupied several times. Since 1918, the town belongs to the province of Upper Austria. After the annexation of Austria to the German Reich on 13 March 1938, the town belonged to the " Upper Danube ". In 1945 the restoration of Upper Austria.

To 1923 St. Thomas was part of the district court Waizenkirchen and slammed the judicial district of Gries church after the dissolution of this court district. At the same time the church was separated from the district Eferding and part of the district Gries churches.
