The Stonewall County is a county located in the state of Texas in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Aspermont.

Geography

The County is located about 150 km north of the geographical center of Texas and is located in the north about 100 km from the border with Oklahoma. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: King County, Haskell County, Jones County, Fisher County and Kent County.

History

Stonewall County was formed in 1876 from parts of Bexar County and Young County. It was named after Thomas Jonathan " Stonewall" Jackson, a general in the Confederate Army.
