Thomas Massie

Thomas Harold Massie ( born January 13, 1971 in Huntington, West Virginia) is an American politician. Since November 6, 2012, he represents the state of Kentucky in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Thomas Massie grew up in Vanceburg (Kentucky). He studied until 1996 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the electrical and civil engineering. In 1993, nor during his time at MIT, he founded with his wife, with whom he now has four children, the company SensAble Devices Inc. After the entry of a partner, the company was renamed in 1996 in SensAble Technologies Inc.. Later Massie sold his shares in the company and moved with his family to a farm in Lewis County. Politically, he joined the Republican Party. Between 2010 and 2012 he held the position of Executive Judge in Lewis County. This position is roughly equivalent to that of a district administrator or district commander.

Following the resignation of Mr Geoff Davis Massie was at the due election for the fourth seat from Kentucky to succeed him in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he took up his new mandate on 6 November 2012. At the same time he was also elected at the regular congressional elections of 2012 for the next legislative session in Congress. Thus, he or she can start a new term of office on January 3, 2013.
