1937 German football championship
In the 30th German Championship season 1936/37, the reigning German champions 1.FC Nürnberg competed against the most successful team of recent years FC Schalke 04 - a new version of the finale of the season 1934.
The Gelsenkirchen won as early as 1934 and took so successful revenge for the injuries suffered in the preseason semi-final defeat against the same opponents. For Schalke, it was the third title in their fourth finals, for Nuremberg's already her 9 finale. Schalke won then in the winter of the same year also the Tschammerpokal in 1937 and overtook the Double.
