1939–40 Primeira Divisão

The Primeira Divisão 1939/40, was the sixth season of the Portuguese top football men. The league was operating during the Second World War continues uninterrupted, because Portugal declared itself to be neutral.

Until 1948, the teams were eligible, have qualified through regional tournaments. Promotion and relegation was introduced afterwards.
